- Abused and neglected girls enter puberty with no self-esteem and no sense of self. Their instincts, emotions and perspectives are out of balance. So are the choices they make. They are psychologically bound to Trauma. These girls become women who allow themselves to be beaten and raped, bullied, battered, bulldozed, waylaid, freight-trained and held hostage. Many do not finish high school. Most become pregnant. Almost all develop drug and alcohol problems. They are the walking wounded. Some of the most unloved human beings our society has to offer. The life stories of these woman are enough to make even the most sophisticated clinician sick to the stomach. Please help us put an end to this horrible cycle of abuse!
